Community Theatre of Little Rock (CTLR) was founded in 1956 and remains central Arkansas's oldest and finest theatre tradition. CTLR is, and always has been, a fully volunteer and non-profit organization. For over 60 years, CTLR has worked tirelessly to fulfill its mission to enlighten, to educate, and to entertain the people in Arkansas!
CTLR has always been a theatre company without a brick and mortar home of its own. The company has performed in locations throughout central Arkansas. These locations include the Arkansas Repertory Theatre, Capitol Keyboard, The PUBLIC Theatre, The Studio Theatre, the Arkansas School for the Deaf and others. Currently, CTLR performs at the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1004 in North Little Rock.
CTLR is run by a volunteer, working Board of Directors. This Board of Directors is responsible for the operations, programs, productions, administration, community service and any other aspects involved in fulfilling its mission. Most board members also have full-time careers outside of the theatre. They volunteer because of their love of the arts and their desire to contribute to the cultural scene of central Arkansas.
